The Value of Democracy in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
Description
Fall 2023
Our project employs conjoint experiments to elicit and measure the preferences of citizens about different features of society (political regime, per capita income, welfare state, inequality, etc.) in a set-up that approaches real-world conditions (that is, a multidimensional world with potential trade-offs) in a sample of rich dictatorships and low- and middle-income democracies and dictatorships.
