Scientification of Politics or the Politicization of Science?  Science is regarded as the primary source of information that helps regulators improve policy outcomes. However, the use of science inevitably involves political reasoning and can legitimize regulators' suboptimal policies, especially as regulators have the leeway to select information consistent with their existing beliefs. This project involves the advanced application of pioneering research methods, including automated text analysis through the fine-tuning of GPT-4, to better understand the political use of science.
