Leveraging Experimental Techniques to Understand Sexual Misconduct in Religious Organizations
Description
Spring 2024
This project examines how hiring professionals evaluate candidates with records of misconduct. It leverages experimental methods in a unique organizational field (Protestant Christian churches in the United States) to better understand what happens when applicants disclose past professional misconduct, specifically sexual impropriety. Results will shed light on an underexplored yet socially significant issue, contributing valuable insights to the field of sociology and advancing understanding of organizational responses to deviant behavior.
