Event Description

The Princeton R Group (“Princeton tigeRs”) hosts informal monthly lunch events where we hear from scholars about interesting applications of their work in R.

Invited Speaker: Noam Ross, Executive Director, rOpenSci

Advancing Open-Source Scientific Software with Peer Review

Noam Ross is a computational disease ecologist and Executive Director of rOpenSci, a non-profit that builds technical and social infrastructure for open science in the R ecosystem.

For a decade, rOpenSci has made software peer-review the linchpin of their project of improving open-software scientific software, using it as a mechanism to develop technology, skills, collaboration, and building a diverse and inclusive community of researchers and developers.

Dr. Ross will discuss lessons learned and how researchers can participate in a gain from working with the rOpenSci community.

Dr. Ross will be available to meet with people outside of his presentation on March 26. Please contact Eric Manning ([email protected]) to set up a meeting.

Lunch will be provided. Register today!
