This lunch-n-learn workshop is the first in a series of workshops hosted by tigeRs, the Princeton R Group, during the Fall 2023 semester.
ChatGPT and generative AI tools offer an opportunity for researchers to do their work more effectively, but social scientists, researchers, and policy analysts aren't always sure where to start.
In this talk, I'll discuss a few different ways to use these tools within an R workflow. I'll also provide an overview of the limitations and considerations to consider when using generative AI tools. Finally, I'll talk about how to think about ChatGPT when teaching computational methods. These insights are based on our experiences introducing the tool to an incoming cohort of social science graduate students in August. While generative AI is an evolving landscape, this talk aims to provide an accessible introduction to thinking about and using these tools within research and teaching settings.
*Lunch will be provided!* Please RSVP below by noon on Tuesday, September 26th so we can order enough food!
